Building and Grounds

 
Mission:  Ensure that the church property, equipment, and grounds are maintained both in appearance and repair.
 
Membership:  Two elders as co-chairpersons, 6 members at large
 
Responsibilities:
 
     1.  Church property upkeep:
          - annual review of all church property
          - maintenance and upkeep of all property and equipment
 
     2.  Inventory:
          - maintain records of the church's inventory
          - recommend to the session changes in this area
 
     3.  Janitors:
         - have oversight of janitors
         - review and recommend annually to the session the church's contract with janitorial service
         - recommend to the session changes in this area
 
     4.  Use of church facilities:
          - recommend to the session the necessary rules and regulations for use of church facilities, including fees, use by
             members and nonmembers of the church for weddings, funerals, receptions, and other meetings approved by the
             session
          - see that sanctuary is heated/air conditioned and that everything is in order
 
     5.  Keys:
          - maintain a record of all keys
          - usage
          - members
          - nonmembers
 
     6.  Office equipment:
          - have oversight of all office equipment
          - review annually contracts for office equipment
          - upgrade and replace equipment when necessary
 
     7.  Property insurance:
          - review annually all insurance policies
          - recommend to the session any changes
 
     8.  Utilities:
          - ensure that all utilities are maintained
 
                       - Note:  Recommend annually to the Finance/Stewardship Committee funding for the various responsibilities of
                                    this committee
