Mission: To guide the church in its
educational programs, to recommend new relevant
educational activities for the |

membership and adherents, and to sustain and
strengthen the members of the body of Christ in order
that they may more |

effectively witness and serve God. |

|

Membership: Two elders acting as
co-chairpersons; recording secretary; Sunday
School Superintendent, 2 church school |
|
teachers; adult and youth group representative;
library representative; DVBS director/family renewal
director; PW |
|
representative; MOC representative; 2 members at
large; pastor (ex officio) |
|
|
|
Responsibilities: |
|
|
|
1. Oversight of the following: |
|
- Church School (Sunday School) |
|
- Library |
|
- Youth ministries |
|
- Conferences/retreats |
|
- Daily Vacation Bible School |
|
- Family renewal |
|
- Church devotional periodicals (Upper Room etc.) |
|
- Educational material used by any church group |
|
- Such other areas as assigned by the session |
|
|
|
2. Plan and supervise a program of Christian
Education for the church |
|
|
|
3. Recruit teachers and leaders for the areas
for which it has oversight |
|
|
|
4. Annually: |
|
- to evaluate the educational program of the church |
|
- to prepare an annual budget and activity statement
for the Fincance/Stewardship Committee by August 15 |
|
|
|
5. To recommend to the session all educational
material used in above functions |
|
|
|
6. To plan and assist the pastor in providing a
confirmation/commissioning experience for young people
in the 7th grade as |
|
numbers permit |
|
|
|
7. To have regular documented meetings of the
Christian Education Committee |
|
|
|
