Finance/Stewardship

 
Mission:  To ensure that the church conducts adequate efforts to fund the mission and ministry of the church
 
Membership:  Two elders, the church treasurer, the church financial secretary, and other members at large
 
Responsibilities:
     1.  All Benevolences:  Develop a plan to keep before the congregation the various benevolent needs of the church:  Presbyter,
          Synod, General Assembly, Seminars, RCS, Cropwalk, etc.
     2.  All Special Offerings:  Plan and implement, at the request of the committees and/or the congregation, all special offerings.
     3.  Every Member Canvass/Pledges:  Develop and implement a program for deepening the commitment of time, abilities, and
          money of the members and friends of the congregation.
          - develop ways to present the annual budget the the membership
          - oversee that the Financial Secretary mails the member financial statements semi-annually
          - order and make available yearly offering envelopes
     4.  manage Investments/Debits:  Have oversight of all church invested funds and any debt accounts
     5.  Supervise the Church Treasurer:  Oversight of church financial records including the receipt, recording, and deposit of
          receipts
          -  audit annually all church financial records, reporting results to the session
     6.  Monthly Financial Statement:  Present to session monthly the church's financial statement
     7.  Audit:  Select annually an auditor and/or committee
          - audit annually all church financial records, reporting results to the session
     8.  Annual Budget:  Receive recommendations from all committees
          - formulate the budget; upon approval by the session, present to the membership
     9.  Florence Hanff Scholarship fund:  Oversee this fund.  Appoint a secretary/treasurer for the fund to properly acknowledge
          gifts received and keep the Memorial Record Book up-to-date.  This person will be the same as the secretary/treasurer of the
          Memorial Fund.  Recommend to the session the time to decide who will be the recipient of the scholarship for the current
          year.
