Noah's Ark Preschool News

October is one of my favorite months of the year.  I think it is because of the beautiful fall colors of orange, red, and yellow.  The children had fun discovering that when you mix the colors red and yellow, you create orange.  After this discovery, they enjoyed painting pumpkins, and making fall windsocks using these colors.  The preschool hallways and classrooms are filled with the wonderful fall creations of the children.  Take a look the next time you walk through the preschool wing.  It will lift your spirits!

Each year we have a Fall Festival for the children and parents. Last year we held the festival at night instead of during the morning hours, and the parents really responded well to the change.  This year we decided to continue on with this tradition.  On Friday, October 26, we planned a fun night for all the children and their siblings and parents to come out and interact with the other preschool family.  The fellowship hall was filled with the laughter and delight of children, as well as adults.  It sometimes appears as though the adults are having more fun than the children.

We will begin the month of November with a field trip to the New Bern Fire Department.  While there, the children will watch a puppet show stressing the importance of fire safety procedures.  The puppet show is a fun and informative way for the children to learn this very important lesson.  The children will also be able to see a fire truck up close.  The firefighters put a lot of effort into making this field trip one that the children will not forget.

During November, the children will have school pictures taken by Pastor Jeff.  The parents always look forward to this service because the pictures come right before Christmas…They make perfect gifts for family and friends.  And finally, we will celebrate Thanksgiving by hosting a feast for the preschool parents and grandparents.  There is always great food and fellowship during this time.

The preschool staff wishes all of you a Happy Thanksgiving!
